There’s something special about capturing love stories that feel deeply rooted, the kind that reflect not just who a couple is now, but who they dream of becoming together. For this beautiful engagement session at The Villa at the Vineyard, that sentiment couldn’t have been more true.

As a San Antonio wedding photographer, I’ve captured love stories all across the Texas Hill Country, but Mission Concepción holds a special kind of beauty. Between the soft stone architecture, warm natural light, and deep sense of heritage, this venue blends faith, family, and timeless romance perfectly.

But as the process unfolded, they realized something deeper: what they truly wanted wasn’t a big event, it was an intentional, relaxed weekend surrounded by the people who meant the most. So they pivoted. And that pivot led them to Marfa, Texas.

If I’m being honest they aren’t always the easiest thing to sit down and write. Sometimes life is CRAZY busy and the thought of blogging on top of running a business, managing the social media side of things and so much more, give me true anxiety. Here’s the upside though…

There are a list of things in life that stress a photographer out, especially if you are mainly a natural light photographer, which is what I am. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve spent my time with OCF (off camera flash) and studio lighting, but it’s just not my jam and honestly I don’t want to store and lug lights around on a daily basis. If you’re a OCF Photographer.. congrats and mad props.. it’s just not my jam.

A few months back I found and was inspired by this black dress and when I saw it I immediately thought of a dear friend of mine who would fit the look I was going for.

This session was a fun one, and almost didn’t happen due to Texas and it’s crazy weather. The sun came out and really showed off which really set the scene for a dreamy background to such this precious couples love story.
